Amanita Muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric, is a distinctive mushroom recognized for its bright red cap with white spots. Known for its psychoactive properties, Amanita Muscaria has been used in shamanic and healing rituals for centuries to induce altered states of consciousness. Unlike other psychedelic mushrooms, it is legal because it does not contain psilocybin. Instead, its effects are primarily due to compounds like muscimol and ibotenic acid, which can produce sensations of euphoria, sedation, and mild psychedelic experiences.

In most standard drug tests such as the 5-, 8-, 10-, or 12-panel screenings, mushrooms generally do not trigger a positive result. These tests are designed to detect common drugs but are not specifically tailored to mushrooms. However, specialized tests that specifically target mushrooms do exist and are more expensive. They are typically reserved for situations where there is a strong suspicion of recent mushroom consumption or a specific need to test for them. Therefore, for most individuals undergoing standard drug tests, the presence of mushrooms in their system is typically not a concern.

Microdosing refers to the practice of consuming very small, sub-perceptual amounts of a psychedelic substance, such as psilocybin mushrooms.
